Kitchener, Canada resides within the boundaries of Ontario. Kitchener was once known as Berlin. Therefore, it has a German heritage. Kitchener also has a Mennonite ancestry. The town was called Kitchener because of Horatio Herbert Kitchener.

 

Benjamin Eby is noted for founding Kitchener sometime in 1807.

 

This city was also home to the Six Nations Indians. These Indians were part of the American War of Independence.

 

The Grand Trunk Railway came to Kitchener sometime during 1856. Kitchener was proud to become an industrial place, based on furniture production, tanning and its button factories.

 

World War I came to the city around 1914.

 

Kitchener is proud to celebrate Oktoberfest, Elmira Maple Syrup Festival, The Waterloo County and Area Quilt Festival and Blues Brews & Barbecues.
